When we bought our land we knew we eventually wanted to build on it. We knew what we wanted and when we meant with Tom he listened to our needs made changes as we needed them and was very patient with us while we worked to sell our existing home before we started the build process. From the very start we new we wanted a farmhouse style home with lots of wood. Our interior was built around the fireplace look that I had picked out and I can say enough how beautiful everything turned out. Zak was wonderful to work with, new exaxtly what we wanted, made sure things stayed on time, and we got into the home about a month early. We absolutely love all the wood work done by Jed Stroller and our concrete counter tops completed by Schmidgall Construction. When our family and friends walk into our home those are the first two things that everyone is drawn two. It really gives the home that true Farmhouse look. We are so glad we chose Hoffman & Ochs as our builder to build a home we never imagined we thought we would have. We would and will recommend them to anyone who wishes to build their own home some day!

Hired Hoffman Ochs for a master shower remodel and they were fantastic. Far better results that I dreamed. Care for my property and communication throughout the project was very professional.

Hoffman Ochs is a wonderful builder to work with from start to finish. Tom Ochs was very accommodating through the design process educating us and working with us to get the desired plans we wanted. Zak Hoffman and all of Hoffman Ochs' subcontractors were also fantastic to work with through construction. They were never hesitant to answer questions and explain things. We could not be happier with the end product and highly recommend Hoffman Ochs to build your dream home.

We have had the pleasure of knowing Tom Ochs for over 17 years. During that time, he built two custom homes for us. Both were excellent quality and sold quickly when we needed to relocate for work reasons. Hoffman Ochs always stood behind their products throughout the time we owned the homes. You don’t realize how much this support means until you lose it. During our last relocation, we moved to the Chicago area in the height of the building boom in 2008. We found a very nice home (existing new construction) and were happy with the home until the builder (along with many others) unfortunately went out of business. We were on our own to address issues with the house.
As part of another corporate relocation, we decided to build another home customized to our needs. We only made two phone calls to select a builder, the first and the last, to Tom Ochs. We had been in Chicago for 8 years but Tom made us feel as if we had spoken just the other day. He remembered all the details of our family, our previous homes, and worked to customize a new home design that met our needs. He also gave great advice on a lot location and finishes for our 3rd Hoffman-Ochs built home. His quoting process was very detailed, cost effective, and inspired confidence we were getting features we desired.
Building a home takes a certain mindset. It can be challenging especially if you are building 2 hours away from your current residence. Fortunately, we had a strong relationship with Tom built on his integrity, expertise, and professionalism over the 17 years of our friendship which made the process much easier. Also, we can’t say enough good things about the rest of the Hoffman-Ochs team (John, Zach, Tammy, and Britt) in managing the design and build of our home. Finally, we would like to express our appreciation to the long list of sub-contractors who all exhibited a similar level of professionalism and pride in their workmanship (especially Jed Stoller for his beautiful trim carpentry).

We sold our home yesterday! It was on the market for less than 10 hours!!! I think that speaks to the quality of a Hoffman Ochs home, and I know for a fact the basement Hoffman Ochs did for us sealed the deal. Our new home is very nice, but unfortunately not a Hoffman Ochs build.

We absolutely love our home. Troy and I had looked for several years for a home that would fit our needs. We wanted a ranch style home with an open floor plan. Seemed like a simple task, but we could not find what we were looking for in the Bloomington area. We met with Tom and immediately knew he was the builder we wanted to have build our home. We kept hearing, "Oh, I hope you are ready for the stress that comes with building a home." That was NOT the case when working with Tom and Zak. They were easy to work with and we truly enjoyed meeting with them over decisions we had to make. A year later we still comment there is not one thing we would change. Thank you Tom and Zak!

My wife, Beverly, and I wanted to express our appreciation to you as a company, Hoffman Ochs, and especially in having Steve Maur as our general contractor. Steve was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. His attention to detail has certainly made us pleased with the finished product. Because we changed so much outside our entire house, and also the changes inside, we marvel at how great it all turned out. While planning our new home, we were looking for a builder that was more than willing to customize the house as we wanted. When I contacted the Hoffman Ochs team, they quickly responded and were more than glad to help design our home. We had a plan in mind and Tom immediately began putting a design together, and laying out the specs to meet our needs. Once we were ready to build Tom, John, Zak and their team all made it happen. During the build our questions were answered quickly and adjustments were made as needed to keep the project on time. All of our contractors that built our home were great to work with and ensured our new home would be just what we wanted. once the house was completed ahead of schedule to accommodate our other home sale, Tom and Zak made sure everything was taken care of and that were happy with any remaining punch items. It's been a pleasure working with the Hoffman Ochs team, and we are so glad we chose them to build our new home.

Carol and I have been in our Hoffman & Ochs home for over 8 years and have not had any problems with the workmanship in our home. When we first transferred to the Morton IL area and worked with Tom Ochs the house was about 60% complete. Being the house was started we did not have input on the internal features of our home however the team at Hoffman & Ochs had designed a beautiful interior with upgraded cabinets, floors, and custom decor. The build team was absolutely professional and very easy to work with when we requested some minor changes. Over the past 8 years there have been times when I have reached out to Tom Ochs to get clear advise on some projects we are doing in and around the house. He remembers our names and treats us with respect in every way and his advise has been spot on. Carol and I are truly happy in our Hoffman & Ochs home and would recommend this team for any future home purchases.

I wanted to have a self-designed and very comfortable house when we were thinking about moving to a second house. We also we couldn't find a satisfactory home in the same subdivision- so we decided to build one. We looked online and talked to friends to collect referrals at the same time. We found a similar house plan [similar to house we built] from a website, then started to call builders. We seriously considered two companies and ended up choosing Hoffman Ochs GC. Overall I did not have concerns, as a couple of my friends made good comments about your company and shared many stories with me. I would say the entire process went smoothly. The schedule was met and the quality is good. There were two problems that were captured during the construction, Tom took prompt response and fixed them in a timely manner. Tom provided excellent service, very effective communication as well as strong project management skills- all of this impressed me very much. I will definitely recommend this builder to my friends. Tom is a very nice person to work with. When I was shopping for appliances, people often commented on Tom's positivity, which further encouraged my positive experience with Tom.
